1. The fundamentals of marketing
What is marketing?
The simple and concise explanation of marketing is as per below.
“Marketing is what you do in your business when you want to help convince people to buy what you have to sell.”
At first, glance, marketing even a single product or service can seem like an enormous challenge. You understand the value of your offering — but how do you show it to consumers? And how can you ensure they actually pay attention to your message?
Let’s start with some basic marketing principles.
The four Ps of marketing
The 4 Ps of marketing are a product, price, place, and promotion. These are the key elements that must be united to effectively promote a brand’s unique value, and help it stand out from the competition.
Product:- A product means any item that satisfies the needs and wants of a target customer. It can be a tangible good, such as a clothing item or piece of software, or intangible, like a service or experience.
Price:- Price is the cost consumers pay for a product. Marketers must link the price to the product’s real value, but they also must consider supply costs, seasonal discounts, and competitors’ prices. In some cases, Marketers may raise the price to give the product the appearance of being a luxury. Alternatively, they may lower the price so more consumers can try the product.
Place:- Where do buyers look for your product or service? Where do your ideal customers go to find information about your industry? If they look in a store, what kind? A specialist store or in a supermarket, or both? Or online? Or direct, via a catalog?
Promotion:- Promotion includes promotional strategy, advertising, and public relations. The goal of promoting a product is to reveal to consumers why they need it and why they should pay a certain price for it.
Now we got the basic idea of marketing. Next, we will understand the difference between Digital Marketing and Traditional marketing. Also, we will understand why digital marketing is more important nowadays.

3) Importance of communication skills in marketing.
Marketing basically is a process or an activity of communicating, delivering, and exchanging products and services to the customers, clients, and society at large. It involves various activities that are performed by organizations in order to sell their goods and services to customers. Communication can be defined as a process of exchanging information from one person to another through an effective medium of exchange.
If we analyze, both of these words are closely related to each other. Marketing is principally about communication. Communication is the only key through which the marketers can spread the word about their products to the customers.
“ Communication is the solvent of all problems, therefore communication skills are the foundation for personal development.” — Peter Shepherd

- Interest: They think you can solve a problem and wants to learn more.
